The James Ward Elementary staff – with the support of home and community – works to instill pride, honesty, respect, self-confidence, and a healthy attitude in all our students. The school provides an educational environment conducive to mastery of skills required for future success. Student pride in learning, self-discipline, and effective social skills are nurtured by faculty and staff in preparing students to be responsible and contributing members of society.
This year we have begun the Leader in Me program which is designed to focus on these important life skills as outlined in the Steven Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Our students will be learning about the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Kids: Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand / Then to be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw.
All teachers at James Ward Elementary are highly qualified to perform their duties. Any parents who would like information about professional qualifications of teachers or teacher aides may inquire at the school office.
In addition to our school handbook, students will bring home documents which need to be reviewed, signed, and returned promptly; these include parent and student signatures verifying receipt and understanding of the handbook and weekly papers.
Thank you for entrusting your children to us. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family!
